A Message From Your Worship Leader
All too often, when thinking about "True Worship" I am reminded of Paul and Silas. Even though their circumstances made their bodies and minds weak at times, they were able to lift their hearts above their circumstances and enter into the presence of God through worship. They were able to feel and receive the Lord, and in turn, they provided God a channel for his power to operate in their circumstances. Praising the Lord is something that many people leave at churches every Sunday. It only happens when we meet together on that day, or when we come together with other Christians. However, our praise as Christians should coincide with our daily activities. Praise and Worship should be a part of a believer's lifestyle, inter-mingled as a part of their daily prayer-life. It will allow us to not only experience the wonderful relationship at hand with Christ, but it will also allow Him to move in and throughout our circumstances. At Epoch Church we encourage everyone to bring in a new song of praise themselves, on any given Sunday.
I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth (Psalms 34:1).
That being said, the Worship Ministry here at Epoch Church is made up of individuals who seek to serve the Lord with a spirit of humility and excellence. We strive to lead others into the presence of His majesty so that we may glorify Him together with one voice as the living King! Our praise will be an expression of humbling ourselves and focusing our full attention upon the Lord with heart-felt expressions of love, adoration and thanksgiving.
"Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance." In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted." (Psalms 89:15& 16)
As your worship leader at Epoch Church, it is my God filled desire to bring you to a place of higher worship. A place where regardless of your circumstances you will still come and encounter God in a very special way! Worshiping God is just that...regardless of our circumstances, struggles, disease, etc., being able to leave "us" behind and walk into a place where we can give all our love and devotion to our God! It is my humble prayer that with God's help I may lead you to that place of total Adoration.
Again, as I began this article, I choose to conclude it. All too often, when thinking about "True Worship" I am reminded of Paul and Silas. Even though their circumstances made their bodies and minds weak at times, they were able to lift their hearts above their circumstances and enter into the presence of God through worship.
To God be the Glory,
David Mechoso
